

Creating Life and Losing LifeTo have gotten good at what I'm good at, it required separating myself from any sort of social network. The more I withdrew from the world, the better I got drawing it. Getting farther from it allowed me to put everything into perspective. But the farther I drew back, the less involved I was with my subject matter. The faces I felt with the scanning of my pencils back and forth: would I ever hear their voice? Would they talk back to me and spend time with me? The characters I developed: would I ever meet such people in my isolation? With the richness in spirit I saw in them that I rendered?
